French Riviera offers a great variety of landscapes, and they’re all beautiful from one another. It’s one of the rare regions where you can go skiing in the mountains and have a walk on the beach on the same day. However, most of the weddings on the French Riviera remain traditional. Our aim is to share and develop these kind of wild and genuine ceremonies surrounded by nature. That’s why we asked Marine and Maxime to join us on this boho adventure for an editorial elopement.
We met our young couple in the middle of these red lands at the Esterel mountains. Maxime and Marine are the sweetest young and beautiful couple. In a young-married couple’s shoes, they told us how they met: at the “Bal des Fous”… this is not what you think, they didn’t met at a carnival, the “Bal des Fous” is an event on the French Riviera for cool young people with DJ sets on the beach.
When they mentioned how they met it made everyone smile, they are not only crazy in love but also extremely kind and funny, you can tell while watching the pictures, they were actually having a laugh most of the time.
It turned out that Marine was so overwhelmed with emotions after Maxime’s speech.
We finally made it, this is what elopements are all about: friends, the beauty of nature, intimacy, and authentic moments between the lovers. Nowadays, it became so rare to take time to listen to each other, to be amazed by the simplest things in life, and to share essential and noble things.
This project is also about these girl bosses. Women…Only! Young, talented, they gave up their comfortable jobs to follow their passion and launch their own company.
This is a kind of revolution for women, women 2.0 who are not afraid to do manual and creative jobs.
So first, there is Esther our nomad make-up artist wandering around the French Riviera with her Beetle car and her little caravan. Then, Elena the florist with her stunning floral pieces and her unique style.
Marine is our gown designer and has allowed us to use one of her handmade dresses with a beautiful lace top with an open back that exposed the model Marine’s tattoo. Art runs in Marine’s family, Ondine, her sister recorded a video. Videography is her passion and she got to practice to develop her skills.
And of course Lesley our photographer who managed to give the colors and atmosphere that we were looking for, far from basic wedding shots. She’s got a good eye, a professional one, and always looking for spontaneousness and emotional shots, inspired by her mentors such as India Earl, Dawn Charles or Jordan Voth.
We didn’t knew each other before the photoshoot, and it seemed like we already worked together in the past. We all clicked immediately.
Inspired by a bohemian style, we managed to create a boho-folk arch thanks to WallKnot who has provided the beautiful macramé made with wooden pearls and fluffy cotton balls.
We are extremely proud to promote Elopements on the French Riviera and offering creative stuff that break traditions. A wild-boho-genuine climate, which hopefully will found its place for the next elopements on the French Riviera!”
