Elopement White Cliffs of Dover

I met Courtney on the internet on a photographers group months ago and we clicked immediately despite the 7000Kms between us. Courtney is also a wedding & elopement photographer in Florida. You can check her work on her website here www.fondafotofilm.com

We are on the same page, we like adventure, genuine weddings & elopements, nature & animals. It was for sure that we would get on from the beginning.

Courtney and Zach got married years ago in Florida, but decided to go on an adventure to renew theirs vows in a stunning place that is The White Cliffs of Dover in England.

I’ve always dreamt to shoot these kind of sessions surrounded by nature, so when Courtney asked me to be the photographer for their vow renewal, I jumped with excitement!!

Not only I was about to meet an american photographer that I love but I could also finally shoot an elopement in a breathtaking landscape!

Sarah and I were in London so we took a train to get to Dover (about 1h30) and we met them at the station. It was so cool to finally met her in real, we booked their elopement months ago so I couldn’t wait.

We took no transports during the day, we walked (24.000 steps!!) and got to Dover castle first then walked on the road like wanderers (it was a bit dangerous actually) to get to the White Cliffs of Dover! Sarah almost passed out with our heavy bags full of photography stuff! It took about 1h30 to get there! Fortunately, it didn’t rain!

Once we got there (in a state close to coma haha), Courtney got dressed in public toilets (so glamorous!!), and we kept on walking to find the best spot to exchange their vows.

It was such a long journey to get to the cliffs, the path was so muddy and slippery, I fell on the floor so many times haha!

We spent a great day in the end, between adventure and emotions. It was intense and emotional to witness this sweet and genuine moment. That is what I love the most, now I’m convinced, I want to shoot more elopements in the future. That is my energy!
